Oakridge Community Garden Update May 2025: New Beds Have Arrived!
Four new garden boxes were built and installed over the weekend and are ready for members to get planting! Thanks to our volunteers who came out on Saturday, May 3 for our first “Work Bee” of the season.
Volunteers helped situate the new boxes and filled them with soil and compost, repositioned the compost bins, and worked to prepare the gardens for a great season of growing. The City of Calgary has now turned the water on at the gardens, so you can expect to see lots of members planting their gardens in the coming weeks!
Our next work bee is scheduled for May 17, where volunteers from Youth Central will help to install edging around the vertical gardens. Come on down and lend a hand!
